About

Strategist

I work as a strategic advisor to clients in higher education, foundations, and nonprofits. I have experience in crisis communications and social media strategy in sensitive times. I have led project teams on the agency and organization side through major website redesigns. I have written script treatments and done pre- and post-production planning to ensure a video meets strategic objectives. I have served on nonprofit community boards advocating for constituent groups and testifying in public meetings.

Writer

My writing experience spans disciplines and formats, from freelance feature reporting, product reviews, academic writing and peer-reviewed journal articles, essays, multi-platform strategic internal and external communications, and writing for trade publications. I care deeply about writing well, no matter the medium, and am a tireless copyeditor.

Teacher

Born into a family of educators, I designed and taught a graduate-level education policy seminar at Penn, design and lead workshops in web writing and content strategy for content teams at universities, worked in teacher professional development, taught high school and middle school students how to make videos, co-founded and developed the curriculum for an organization that has taught 150+ women how to race bikes, and mentor in a mountain bike program for girls.

Visual Artist

From feature length documentaries to experimental film, I have worked in everything from 16mm editing on a Steenbeck to multicamera production in Final Cut Pro X. I have worked in run-and-gun and lean production environments, and collaborated with full-scale commercial production crews. As a photographer, my experience includes sports photography in cycling, portraiture, and nature/travelogues.

Information Architect

As a web strategist specializing in complex university websites, I am by necessity also an information architect. Similarly, in my experience editing long-form documentaries, I sort through hours of footage to craft a compelling narrative. I bring together multidisciplinary teams to brainstorm ideas and facilitate conversations in pursuit of solutions. I enjoy sorting through mountains of information to find the through-lines, negotiate points of conflict, and seek clarity.

Product Manager

I view my digital strategy work from the lens of continuous improvement, coaching, and consensus-building rather than one-off redesigns or overhauls. I craft digital governance plans, build strategic roadmaps and execution plans, mediate stakeholder deliberations, advise on budget or resource requests, and help clients develop sustainable reporting and communications plans.
